How much money do you want to spend? If money is no object, go with the JE turbo pistons and rings, eagle rods, and you may want to upgrade your valves and lifters while you're at it.

If you are looking for a budget 2.4, then go with SRT internals. They should be good enough to hold 12-15psi of boost? Maybe TEXASRT will chime in on that. This is the cheaper way to go and still have good, reliable parts. Check on srtforums.com. They are always selling their stock stuff to get bigger/better/faster toys!

Re: motor bulid

srt motor parts are cheap! and seeing as how they handle 12-15psi STOCK, you should be ok. it will be a grand or so for the parts (maybe a bit more, but it shouldnt be)

Anything internally...it all fits. Pistons, rods, rings, and maybe get some PT lash adjusters and lifters to save you even more money. Here is a great post you can read...

Re: motor bulid

if you still wanna go with the srt pistons and bearings and want to make sure they will hold just get the thermal coated, aka cryotreated. they will handle much more heat. cost is usually around 20-25 per piston. cheap and effective for your piece of mind.

Re: motor bulid

guys are making 450+ hp on stock internals. if you want to make more than that, then go with a good rod (srts will go above 600hp, but are somewhat heavy, a forged set will save on weight making it more able to rev!) and some good low compressio forged pistons (weisco makes them for cheap)

If the block needs anything more than a light hone, you probably won't want to use the srt4 pistons. You can still use the rods though with aftermarket pistons if the block needs bored. And yes, they will work in any Mopar 2.4l

dumb question: what is a hone? isnt the srt-4 rods and pistons forged?

Re: motor bulid

honing is the process in which the cross hatch the bore. this allows the rings to seat properly. the pistons are not forged, instead they are hypereutectic, meaning just cast. they suck butt.
