i enquired about #027R currently at Cars International, London

and got this reply!!!

'Hope this info is of interest.

1997 McLaren GTR longtail #27R is ex Parabolica / FIA gt championship contender - it contested every round in 97 including LeMans, mostly driven by Goodwin and Ayles (Goodwin is still employed by McLaren and was the factory SLR development driver) It also was the first longtail ever to win a race as Parabolica tested it in a round of the british GT series and won it outright prior to the FIA series in 97. Fully race prepared, the engine has just been rebuilt at BMW motorsport and has done less than 50 miles since. There is a usefull spares package with the car and the asking price is £795,000 sterling.'

it look like its not for road use (at the moment ) but GOD what i'd do to have that car!!!

Peloton, you have a PM!!!!

This is true - it was on the entry list for Sebring, but didn't qualify or compete. Sounds like it didn't arrive on time.

£795K is actually quite resonable I think. Its a car with providence. And of course its a long tail. Compare to some of the cars we've seen with £1M Plus price tags.

I completely agree... I'm just a little short on that kind of coin right now.

rr_ww,
it's a car with providence? Did you mean provenance? I usually don't correct people's English, but the two words have entirely different meanings.

Which cars? I don't recall many GTRs selling recently and certainly not for more than a million GBP. Thats quite high for a GTR, even if it has (or will be) converted to "street spec"
