Hood pins for carbon fiber hoods?

Quick question I just ordered a VIS Invader carbon fiber hood, I know they "recommend" using pins but I'd prefer not to use them, are they really neccesary?
Thanks,
EZ

Let us pretend we didn't hear that .

Below is just one thread from hundreds posted by people who thought they didn't need pins, or were to lazy to get them. You ~*MUST*~ get hood pins. period.

Re: Hood pins for carbon fiber hoods?

don't even move the car without the hoodpins in. A local DSM buddy of mine just took his out for a spin around the hood to buy some drinks and the hood flew up and bent his roof, new roof time. He had the pins sitting in his garage too, he was going to put them in once he got back.

Re: Hood pins for carbon fiber hoods?

10 bucks says your hood flies up before then, lol, hopefully not.
