Dastek Unichip

as requested by Dprotech

This thread is to shed some light about the Unichip. First off, they can be found on www.dastek.co.za

Basically, its a piggy back ECU which requires profession installation and then dyno mapping, in order to run. This then is customised for each individual, as no two G20 are identical. It can them be remapped for each or a combination of engine mods, like air filter, cams, injectors, turbo kit, controlling of NO2 etc etc. This allows each modification to be used to the fullest extent which can only benifit the car.

You can read all about it on there site, but take a look at the Unichip Dealership section and goto the 'code of a dealership' section as each distributor has to abide by some rules, and if they aren't helpful or you have any problems, there is help for you on there.

Distributors can also be located on the site, so you may well find a local dealer, as they are internetionally distributed.

All in all, its a top bit of kit, this is my second unit on as many cars, and even on a basic engine with no mods, it can gain 5BHP and 10LBS of torque. So the more mods you do, the more the Unichip will benifit you.

I would have never of dreamed that South Africa could produce stuff like the Unichip. Just goes to show. But i think the Unichip is definately under rated, and im suprised that some of you have even heard of it. Well recommended. Good value for money.

give me a couple of weeks, cos i'm waiting for my ams to arrive. The car stands at 141BHP at the flywheel as standard, the cams are supposed to give +12BHP at least, and the Unichip, will do the rest. As soon as i get some dyno results, i'll post them up here.
