700R4 to 4l60E
are the internals the same? like would the clutches and steels and bands be the same? I need to rebuild my tranny and was wondering if ordering a 700R4 kit would work. I see that TCI offers a rebuild kit with a shift kit included but it only says 30 splined 700R4, I know the 4L60E is based on the 700R4 and is also 30 splined.

Re: 700R4 to 4l60E
The plates should still work - they're the same. The valve body gaskets, however, will not.

Re: 700R4 to 4l60E
yea... those are the same trannys, the difference is just in how they are controlled (valve body), electronic and mechanical.

Re: 700R4 to 4l60E
TCI should have a kit for the 4l60e tranny. Ive read places that the rebuild kits for them are very year to year specific. Little minor things are different or something. Id give TCI a call or email and see what you need.
