Re: V8 engine swap
Try sticking to an 88 full sized motor. Preferably 3/4 ton since it shold be a 350.
It'll be the easiest in the long run, and a good motor. |

Re: V8 engine swap
get a 350 from the same year as your dime, as overboard said, it will be the easyest, for parts you need search the board, rlith has listed it in detail several times, your looken for a total around 2500 to 3k

check out a web site called Jagsthatrun.com
Won't help on the year or model for motors, but will give you lots of info on the swap. |

Alternator, Yes.
Starter dono, but probably. Your best off to just buy a complete good runnng, good driving full sized parts truck Last edited by OverBoardProject; 11-20-2005 at 01:39 AM. |

Re: V8 engine swap
2.8???????// you said you had a 4.3, 2.8 parts dont switch to a 350, only 4.3 parts, take 4.3 divide by 6, multiply by 8, and that should make sence as to why the parts are intercangable, including the ring gear/flex plate, a 4.3 is a 350 (5.7) minus 2 cyl.
