heated mirrors

hey. i have a 2002 gmc sierra and i dont think my heated mirrors are working they are not defrosting them.

couple questions:

1. does the little defrost sybol light up when u turn on the mirror defrost?

2. has anyone had this problem is it a common thing or a easy fix.



the back panel on the mirror does not look like fun to take off.

it is winter up here in canada so it would be nice to get them fixed

your help would be appreciated

I think the defrost light is supposed to come on when the mirriors are on defrost. The first thing I'd look for is a blown fuse somewhere. If no luck, try asking someone at an auto parts store, or an actual mechanic who'd be willing to tell you some possible problems.
