2000 Lumina rotor removal..how to?

HI

I've got a 2000 Lumina... the last Chevy I owned was a 1980 Citation. The rotors on that were a snap...

How do I get the front rotors off?

I got the caliper off and now it looks like there is a housing that is around the calipers... how do I get that off so I can pull the rotor off?

Thanks,

There's two big bolts on the back that hold that caliper support on 17mm I think, and boy are they tight. Use a six sided socket or a good long wrench and watch your knuckles, cuz when they break, they snap fast.

Then you can get that support outta the way and take the rotor off.

Unless they are Torx bolts. Might be T60 if maxwedge is right (usually is) Buy two, you'll need them. Take one back when you're done (if it survived)

Using a torch helps i found out (tonite.. i just did mine, and they are a pain) but seriosuly get some GOOD torx bits. Even the high quality ones were failing on me.

A good breaker bar and a real fast, sharp snap will bust them usually. If you just pull hard, you can do chin-ups all day on them and they won't break loose.
