ya this should be in the ek section but a lot more people post here...
Im buying an EK HB asap. The thing is, I absolutely hate it when the moldings and mirrors are a different colour than the rest of the car. That's why i was planning on buying a black one, because i think all ek's have black moldings and mirrors (the SI has painted mirrors though) and therefore they would match the paint, but i was thinking that i could just paint the moldings and side mirrors if i bought a white one instead if it's not too expensive. approximately how much would it be to paint the moldings and mirrors to match the factory paint? |

Re: Painting side mirrors and moldings $?
man.....
you should have a paint shop in your city! call them & ask them, you might even have to drive up there for them to see it,I dont think anyone here would know the exact price for that, but if you want me to guess,I would say no lower then 100$ & no higher then 500$, if it was me,I would get a can of spray paint for 5.00 then paint it, I would rice myself out before I would pay to have that done, it wouldn't look no different then them painting it, as of a matter of fact it would look different, because the paint their gonna spray on there is going to look newer, being that your civic is 15 or so years old with a stock paint job, (not saying that some civics still don't look good with stock paint jobs) but..... I would not take the time & money to have them side moldings painted. gl

Re: Painting side mirrors and moldings $?
Thanks for your estimate, even if it was accompanied by some attitude. if you read more carefully you would have noticed that i'm buying an EK (96-00), so that paint will only be 8-10 years old depending on what year i get, and i wasn't looking for an exact price. I asked "approximately" how much would it be. I was just hoping that someone who has had a similar job done or worked in a shop could provide give me a general idea on the cost beacause im not going to buy another colour HB other than black if it cost alot to get them painted.

Re: Re: Painting side mirrors and moldings $?
Dont take the attitude personnal,I only seen the code 1 (newbie alert)
and I jumped to conclusions without hesitation, just a thing in the past I was once there myself...j4j..lol and I noticed the EK (wasn't too familar with it) then rubbed my eyes & seen EF, I just noticed you was in a 88-91 civic/crx forum & thought of it that way, but the price will be up there for somthing so small. But does anyone here on the 88-91 civic/crx's know what a 96-00 civic would cost to have the side moldings & side mirrors painted the exact same color as the car? (laser painted)

Re: Painting side mirrors and moldings $?
I actually saw a 96-00 hatchback today that had the side mirrors and moldings painted, and it looked like the factory silver, so either that person did exactly what i want to do or im confused. maybe in the later years of the ek, like 99 or 00, they started painting the moldings and mirrors. does anyone know if that's true, and if so what year did they start?
