tough question

I recently bought a Yale forklift model#L5 220 MAS-95-100-48, serial#B-219046. Problem is I cannot find what size engine it has in it to get parts. I was told it was a late 60's early 70's but the body style of the lift tells me its probally older. The engine is a GMC v-6 with the numbers 2487297 cast on bolth heads. I checked with several places, these numbers dont come up. The sparkplugs arent in the usuall place either. they go down beside the intake instead of beside the exhaust ports I've never seen this before. If you have any ideas I would appreciate your input. thanks Andy

I do recall a GM V6, 90 degree, 262(?) cid that was essentially a Chevy 350 cid V8 with the front 2 cylinders removed.

None of my books show it ever being installed in cars, but it was placed in some trucks, so its industrial application in a forklift makes sense.
Someone else might want to add or correct this info.

It might also be a Buick 225 V6; the basic design was modified in the 70's to become the 3.8 liter we all know so well.

Andy GMC made a V-6 like you described in the mid 60's It is probably a 305 or 351 cid Hope this helps
