Re: escalade W.I.P.

it's look good but it's hard to really see 'cause the pics all shaky, don't forget to put the macro mode on when u take pics (the icon often a flower) but it's gonna look good but why that your primer look like it's metallic ? I gonna follow your wip for sure !

Re: escalade W.I.P.

Looks good to me, primer is nice and smooth. Are you building it OOB?

dont know what oob means im guessing it means out of box right? yeah im pretty much doing that i might try some custom work but i dont really know yet depends whether or not i feel like taking the risk of screwing it up as this is only my second car. thanks for saying it looks good it means alot to me.

Update:
Got the paint finished still gotta wax it and apply some sort of compound to it and then finish it with a clear coat but this is what it looks like so far. as soon as i get finished with all the paint necessaties ill start working on the actual body of the car. anybody got any ideas where i could find some custom parts such as like different rims or those cool little nos bottles you guys put in your cars, i wanna make mine unique in some way. let me know what you think how i can improve all that good stuff.

i think it looks nice compared to my last car.....what a joke that was.

Looks good, but you should clear coat BEFORE polishing! If you polish metallic paint without clear you will scratch your paintjob.

Re: escalade W.I.P.

I wouldn't put NOS bottles in an escalade but thats just me. I would put some t.v's in it, a nice sound system, don't use the one in the kit it's really really small, and lower it on a nice set of rims. The t.v's, rims, and sound system can all be bought aftermarket or if you wanna do it as cheap as possible and still have it look decent, then I would recomend going to walmart and finding some of the Jada toys diecasts. You buy one of them and you can get a set of rims, t.v, and subs and amps all for about $12. not bad huh. Just a few suggestions................*Ryan*

Re: escalade W.I.P.

LOL, I never even finished my first model LOL I was still brush painting the body on my third Yeah, sanding metallics ruins the color, in most cases I found it to turn what ever color it is to a shade of silver.

As for aftermarket goodies, I know of a couple good places. Like Ryan suggested, Jada diecast has some pretty good pieces in them. Try www.partsbox.com or www.bestresin.com Then there is www.arrowheadaluminum.com so far i think I like parts box selection the best, they have some cool stuff!

Looks good so far, I love blue Escies! For a second attempt at painting bodies, you did an absolutely fantastic job! It's pretty smooth, real nice job! How many coats?

Keep it up, I think you'll be a real good builder
