Cams?? There is only one.

He better be running faster than just 12's. At least lower 12's.
Most cammed LS1 cars can see an 11 second slip pretty easily. Just need a good rearend and slicks.

Stock LS1 with a good driver and a excellent run under the right conditions have been known to hit 12's. So I would not doubt him.

00 ss stock except the shityear tires were replaced, ran mid 12's without too much difficulty. Ran mid 13's with the stock tires, couldn't launch for crap, they spin too much.

I would believe this if it were slicks.
But the rear wouldn't hold up under slicks.

I doubt it was hitting mid-12's on a car with nothing done other than tires. I can see upper 12's on some DR's. In order to hit that mid-12 on a stock LS1 car you need a mean launch. Rear end being stock...not gonna happen.

The rear does hold up with g-force kd's on it, almost as sticky as slicks and very difficult to spin once warmed up. And the rear is pretty much garbage now, thats the winter project.

Re: do u think this is BS

I know guys that have abused the rear at the track with some good DR's only to have the rear give out on street tires around town.

That does suck, happened to my brother a bunch of years ago, can't figure out how he lunched a rear on an 83 trans am, especially since my grand am has more horsepower with a quad...
