the pcv valve is the large circle valve on top of the valve cover passenger side. The pipe that goes from that and snakes down to the engine block usually cracks. thats where the oil is coming from. did you try cleaning off the maf sensor?

Re: return breather residue

Thank you...No i did not clean the maf...So the spaceship looking thing IS the pcv valve...ok I did take that hose off that comes from the valve to the block(return breather) and it had that strange white creammy goop all in it.I replaced that a couple years ago..it is not cracked..Ok so ill order the PCV..and all the hoses look good...I have to find the maf and well be ok i think....the car started ok after a while..ill see more tomorrow..but now the idle runs between 900 and 1000rpms closer to 1000rpms....b4 it stayed steady @900.. thanks again AJ

Re: return breather residue

The MAF sensor is in your intake boot. Unscrew it, carefully remove it, place it in a bag of denatured alcohol, gently agitate, let air dry completely.

The residue is oil condensate and some water. It doesn't signify damage to the engine...
