Silverado owners

00 silvy w/ 5.3l .......Hears the issue when i turn my dimmer switch all the way up to turn on overhead light the dash ac and radio lights light up when i dial it down just past the click or catch they go dim completely not sure what the issue is but while investigating silverado owners look on the floor under the left upper corner of drivers area just left of the brake pedal there is a wiring there wrapped in the good ol electric tape much to my dismay i found out the clip hold ing it was cool but its holding it to steel double check down there to make sure it has rubbed to copper mines did not sure if that is my issue with the above but any help would be appreciated

They go out completely, or just get dimmer as you turn it down farther?

Sounds like the switch itself could be bad.

Mine is really touchy like that. Just about half way down they completely go out. I just leave it bright and roll on.

I think the PRND lights are supposed to stay dimly lit so you know what gear your on...
