low voltage,then normal

clock\radio light dim, turn key to off positon,and it gets bright for a split second.Or put light switch in between on\off position and it gets bright.Already put in new battery,and alternator.With new alt. light stayd bright for about 15 min.Cleaned all ends also.anyone had this prob?

I think the display is wired to the headlights, cuts the brightness when the lights come on, lets it be brighter in the day.

Sounds like you are stuck on nightime mode. Does it look normal in the dark w/headlights on, or no?

ok,I think I've narrowed it down.With key on (engine off) the clock-radio light is dim.I started pulling fuses,just to see what happen'd. Well when I got to fuse 33 (DRL module) the light got bright when I pulled that fuse,and back to dim when I replaced it.What does this mean?Now what do I do? help please lol

its probably normal, is the car new? Are you familiar with DRL operation? Park it in direct sunlight and see if the lights turn off. Seems like the DRL's are clicking on the headlights due to it being dark. It could be your ambient light sensor in the dash is bad.

Why is it that when I pull the fuse to the DRL MODULE, the clock light returns to normal brightness,but when replaced the light goes dim?

When you turn the lights on, the display is supposed to dim. Your car is equipped with daytime dunning lights "DRL's" and automatic headlights, which will turn on the headlights (thus dimming your display) automatically when the light hitting the ambient light sensor in your dash is at a certain darkness. When you pull the fuse, you disable all the DRL and automatic headlight crap. So then the radio display returns normal. What you can do is to put the fuse in, get out, and look at your headlights. When the switch is in the off position, are you headlights on? If not, and your display is dimmed, you have a different problem, but if your headlights are on, park the car in sunlight, and turn it off, and back on. The headlights should now be off and the DRL's should be on, and you radio display should be bright again. If your headlights are still on, even after parking in the sunlight, remove all the clutter from your dash. Up by your defrost vents, there is a little hole, this is where the light sensor is, and where it senses light, make sure light is getting to it, as its just a photo resistor. Clean it as necessary, and repeat the above procedure. If all else fails, just leave that fuse out for the "DRL module/SEO" Mine's ben out for a while now, because I hate having the car decide for me when I should have my headlighs on. Plus I hate DRL's. Any more questions?

Thanx for the info tblake,but these drl's only work during daylight,at night time the headlights shut off.anymore ideas? maybe bad sensor?
