Leaking Trunk
I got rear ended at a stoplight, but didn't exchange names because it didn't look like there was any damage. When I got home I realized the trunk wouldn't latch. There are no dents that are visible from outside the car, but the cavity that the spare tire sits in was bent a bit. I straightened out the dent and adjusted the bar that the latch hooks to. The decklid latches now, but the trunk leaks. The lid looks like it's a bit raised on the left side, but if I adjust the bar so that the lid is straight it won't latch. Any suggestions on how to bend and adjust the lid to stop the leaks?

Re: Leaking Trunk
Hi Doug,
If the latch bar was bent, the force may have bent or moved the latch mechanism itself out of alignment. Maybe give that some gentle adjustment. |
