2000 lesabre

on my 2000 lesabre the turn signals dont work but hazards do the speedometer does not work either was told because the switch in the transmission was out or something. Is that possible or is the mechanic just shooting smoke up my rear please help did anyone ever have this problem with a car

How long have you had the car? When did these items stop working? How many miles on the car? What do you know about the history of the car?
