Unhappy 98 Malibu Whinmg noise

I have a 98 malibu with 107k miles of which i have done a complete overhaul, It started with a whining noise,I t was the power steering pump. After replacing with a reman pump it still had a noise, So I bought a new Ac delco pump and installed it by the book. I then bought a new AC delco alternator, replaced both idler pulleys, replaced the tensioner, ac delco water pump, serp belt , new Bosch platinum plugs, all new fluids including the power steering, motor mounts, struts brakes and tires. I did everything by the book and used the torque wrench on every nut and bolt. The car is definately running smoother and better but, I still have a whining noise which starts at about 1700 RPM to 2200 RPM, its annoying! what else is there, I have replaced everything with a bearing that turns, its louder at night, Any suggestions? I used all OEM parts.

Does it increase with speed? (Wheels or drivetrain issues).

Yes, but when its in park and you open the hood and put a tuning device on the alternator bracket or alternator itself, Thats seems to be where the noise comes from. Its louder when the engine RPMS are up, Its even louder when in drive.

I have this EXACT same problem. I can't figure it out. Did you ever find out why you were having this whining noise? I know this thread is old as hell but I need to fix this problem.

It sounds like the alternator and the idler wheel right next to it, but I replaced both those parts, and still have the same issue. It sounds like it is coming right form the alternator.

Please, if you get this let me know if you ever fixed this issue lol

I am not sure by now, but it could have been the belt tensioner bracket. But, to be honest, can't tell. My Malibu was wrecked by some lady texting then rear ending my son.

FIXED
This was the serpentine belt tensioner pulley wheel causing the noise! The car is finally quiet!!

thanks
