Broken motor mount
As mentioned here before, I had taken the 99' GCL in to the stealership to check out the issue of the noisey wheel bearings, and finally replaced those myself.
While at there, they did some checking around since it was up on the rack, one of the other recommendations was they noticed a broken motor mount, but didn't say which one. But I'm wondering if that's causing the slight "clunk" when backing down or in reverse. I know it's a different sound and issue with the rear end gear, that still happens, and a different sound all together.
I archived the forum here, but didn't find the answer as to how to replace one. The Clinton manual sounds pretty straight forward, but wondering of anyone has done it or has another other words of advice.
It seems like I need to support the engine and tranny to boost it up to take the pressure off the mounts, I'm wondering if I should replace all of them, since I'm down there and have 162,000 miles on them.
