Should I Sue The Shop?
The starter went out in my 96 jeep cherokee. I had a shop replace the starter and the car still would not start. This shop did not know why. I had to have the car towed to another shop who told me the PCM was damaged. The first shop denied they fried the PCM. Does a PCM get fried on it's own? Should I sue the first shop that replaced the starter?

I dont think you can prove that the first shop fried your pcm, so sueing isnt really worth it.
yes, parts wear out and that includes pcm's. Murphys law at its finest.

Re: Should I Sue The Shop?
Why would you sue them? People like you are what makes owning a small buisiness so hard. You think that anything thats wrong with your car is because the shop was just out to get you. If they did it wouldnt you think they would point it out so that they could charge you to replace it? Grow some balls and get over it. People are too fucking sue happy these days.

Re: Should I Sue The Shop?
That's why I love canada. Anyways, you can't prove it so don't bother, get it fixed and if you don't trust the first shop, don't use them again.

Re: Should I Sue The Shop?
Maybe The First Starter Shorted Internally And Fizzled The Pcm. Its Not Always The Shops Fault Ass Hole

Re: Should I Sue The Shop?
It may not be the first shops fault but if they couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start they're not much of a shop are they? You took your car to them because it wouldn't start. After you paid them to replace the starter, you had to have it towed some place else because they couldn't figure out why it still wouldn't start. This shop sucks no matter what anyone else says, and who knows, they may have fried your PCM. After all they didn't even know it was bad, or how to fix it. But I agree you shouldn't sue them.
