Re: need help

does the engine light come on. try to pull codes on it. it seems that your oil metering pump is faulty and it going into fall safe mode. i had one done it to me and it wouldn't rev past 5000-6000

Re: need help

um, isin't 7500 where the revv limiter kicks in ... ? lol

86 na rx7 revved to approx 7500 and shut down
87 turbo2 does the exact same thing give or take a few hundred rpm...

i wouldn't be expecting a stock 13b or 13bt to be revving much higher than that. i believe the 13bREW's revved to around 8 (someone correct me if i'm wrong) when the revv limiter kicked in.. and the new Renesis motors found in the RX8 is somewhere in the neighborhood of 9000rpm or so.

Re: need help

I've made it well past 8k not paying attention to the tack when I've been in a race so I really don't think there's a limiter at 7,500. Btw this was on a s4 n/a.

Re: need help

just because the tachometer needle says 8,000 RPM or whatever, doesn't mean it will revv that high. FDTT what are the stock revv limiters on these motors ?!?!

Re: need help

To be honest i dont know. I dont think they have active rev limitations other than your right foot.
I have heared alot of talk about one on na's, but then i have personaly pulled out over 8500rpm out of them(by accident)

Also be VERY carful when pulling past the factory redline as the escentric shaft will flex and cause the rotors to contact the side housings. This equals a blow motor and more money for me :P
