codes
anyway of reading codes from the check engine without being diagnosed? i know some cars u can flip the key a few times and blinks the codes.

What model year is your Taurus? On non-OBD-II cars you can use a jumper wire or voltmeter to access the codes. On OBD-II vehicles (1996 and newer) you will need to use a scan tool.
Also, you should be able to take the car to AutoZone or Advance Auto, and probably most other chain consumer parts stores and they will read the codes at no charge. -Rod |
