A/C goes on without turning it on?
when i switch the heat control to vents or vents/heat the snowflake comes on automatically indicating that the a/c is turned on. does anyone know why this happens? i'm kind of tired of turning off the a/c when i want to turn the heat on everytime.

Re: A/C goes on without turning it on?
you have ATC (Automatic Tempature Control)?
With the ATC System is auto matically adjust the heat/cold to keep the cabin temp at the designated tempature. say, if you want the temp to be at 70 degrees, and it is the first time you started the jeep in the morning and it's 40 degrees outside, if will automatically adjust the heat to the maximum heat to allow the cabin temp to rise to 70 degrees then after that it will adjust it up and down to keep it at 70 degrees. This is why the A/C light comes on, the only position it shouldn't come on auto is DEFROST. Just because the A/C light is on doesn't mean the A/C is actually runnning, the only time you will get A/C Is when you have the setting on the lowest setting (LO). the A/C light is on just incase the ATC System needs it, incase it gets way hotter then the designated temp then it will briefly turn the A/C on to cool the cabin down. |
