Car wont start after car wash today
Hi,
I am a total newbie so please excuse if this is in the wrong forum. I took my car for a wash today, very quick wash. Did not wash the engine but as it was cold outside inside that car wash bay was very misty. BTW my car is a 1989 Oldsmoblie Cutless Supreme 4 door. Car was working just fine, did a quick wash and now the car wont start. The car is turning over but just wont start and the voltage meter in the dash goes right to zero when I turn it over, yet when I just turn the key slightly the voltage meter reads normal. Like I said the car is turning over, not clicking. It sounds like it wants to start but just wont, like there isnt enough power. Tried boosting it to no avail. Anyone, anywhere.......any ideas? Thanks for any help or ideas. David in Canada |

ive researched and found the ignition coils on this car are prone to water damage. try to check them as this eems to be a good place to start.

I agree with the coil suggestion. After that, pull the spark plugs and inspect for any condensation. If there is any, just take a rag and wipe it out. Might be time for new plugs and wires also.
