Smile "Performance" switch

OK. Stupid question of the day. What is the "performance" switch supposed to do exactly? increase HP? better gas mileage? I dont notice much of a difference if its on or off. I thought maybe the rpms would change but nothing noticable happens.

This is a 95 SC2 with 68,000 on it. I didnt get a user manual when I bought it a few weeks ago.

Re: "Performance" switch

the PERF switch has three main functions:

1. increase main line pressure.
2. extends the shift points.
3. raises the engine red line.

Re: "Performance" switch

no, it is on 91-97s with automatic transmissions. but on later models i beleave the shift algarithem(SP?) is adjusted accordingly so the PERF switch is not needed.
