Question is this normal

i have a 2000 civic sir and it started to act up a little

1. when clutch is fully released it makes a whining noise (like a belt) but when i touch the clutch its gone. even just pushing a little bit.

2. any way to ajust e-brake? how?

3. best type of wires and plugs for 2000 sir (are ngk iridiums any good?)

4. can i fit 14" steel rims on the sir (some people at honda say yes and other honda shops say no)

what ever u can help me with just to ease my mind

thanx

Re: is this normal

1. The clutch might be improperly adjusted. Or it might be time to replace your clutch

2. Yes, you have to remove the center console first, theres a nut underneath the handbrake lever that you turn to adjust it. You have to jack up the rear of the car, and then turn the wheels to make sure that the brakes arent dragging when the e-brake is not engaged.

3. NGK wires (any type), NGK iridium are probably the best you can get. Expect to pay about $10-$12 per plug.

4. Im pretty sure you can, the EX coupes are built on the exact same platform as the Si, and all the coupes come with 14 inch wheels.

Re: is this normal

does the clutch squeel when its in or ONLY when its almost released?

It could be a throw-out bearing...

Re: is this normal

It depends how many miles you have, clutches wear out over time. If you have over or close to 100K miles then it's probably time to replace the clutch. However, it may be a throw out bearing or some other part, so make sure you have checked everything before replacing the clutch.
