98 Venture engine interchange with newer?
Hello,
I need some information. I need to know if a newer 3.4 liter engine can be installed in a 98 Venture? I know that the 3.4 was the same from 96-99, but it is difficult to find a low mileage used engine. Can I install a 01-05 3400 engine without too much problem. If need be, I donn't mind stripping it down to the long block. I am however concerned about the cam sensor. From 96-99 the cam sensor sync ring was a missing tooth design. 2000 went to a single tooth design and 2003 went to a 50/50 raised and lowered semi-circle design. If I use the sensor designed for the sync ring, willl it send the correct signal to the 98 ECM? Is there anything else that might give me problems? Please help. Thanks. |

Re: 98 Venture engine interchange with newer?
I've actually been wondering the same thing for a long time. Looking forward to seeing if anyone has done this in one of their vans and if so, what had to be done differently to make it work.
