Transmission problem, speedometer inop, all at once

I have a 95 Tahoe 4X4, auto trans, that 3 days ago started acting up. The Rpm gauge is inop, the speedometer is inop, check gauge light is lit, and the orange light for the gear selector comes on and off. On top of all of this, the transmission is not shifting right now. All of this has occured at the same time. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

First step is find out what codes are stored in the PCM.

If you have an Autozone in your area, they will scan for free (so I have heard).

Do you have a remote start installed? If you do, check the wiring as this sounds like the power to the transmission is being disrupted, might want to check the plug on the side of the tranny for corroded pins or it just may be loose

Re: Transmission problem, speedometer inop, all at once

I experienced the exact same problem with my 95 Suburban. The issue turned out to be the ignition switch. At the dealer, it cost me 218.22 for the part and 309.45 for labor charges to get this fixed.

It has been 2 months since the work was completed and I have not had a problem.
