Hey guys, I was wondering if this mod woudl be worth the $200. What exactly would it do and would I feel the difference?

Re: High Flow throttle body

I've heard people swear by it... I plan to buy it myself once I get the chance. Works great if you also have an intake setup already....

In some way, think of it like sucking through a straw ... a small one and then a bigger one... you get more air with the bigger =p High-Flow indeed

Edit: Heres some info, not sure if its totally correct though Source

Quote:
The Stock throttle body is o*nly 52mm in diameter (56mm for the 3400s and 2000+ 3100s). This is hardly enough space to suck in the air this motor needs for peak performance. This unit is 62mm in diameter, and is a much better design than the stock peice. Note that this is NOT a stock throttle body that has been modified, this is a COMPLETELY new peice machined from billet aluminum...
lol he said 'peice'

Quote:
65mm=2.56" = 5.15sq/in = 480cfm
62mm=2.44" = 4.67sq/in = 435cfm
58mm=2.28" = 4.08sq/in = 381cfm
56mm=2.20" = 3.8sq/in = 354cfm
52mm=2.05" = 3.3sq/in = 308cfm (Stock)
I know my air intakes with fans on computers - 80mm fan on my cpu right now... 3 wurrly blades of doom and loud as fuck Nice and cool though.. 90F
but yea... anything bigger would be a big upgrade in reality... it just depends on how much the engine wants to suck in through that TB ... you're good with a 62mm

Re: High Flow throttle body

The 62mm TB is nice with or with out the intakes ported. If you hav a custom/high flow exhaust, it will be a big noticable diff.

townie15, I would recommend a CAI to go allong with the 62mmTB, if u dont already hav a CAI. But hell, just the CAI and TB swap you will notice a diff from stock equipment, thats for sure.
