I bought a 2000 ford windstar a year ago and recently when I turn the engine off the brake lights stay on. So I pump the brake and then they will go off for only a few minutes. I have an idea it might be the brake switch. Has anyone had this happen or have any ideas as what I should do about this?

Re: Brake Lights Won't Turn Off...HELP!!!
Quote:
2000WindStar Take a look at where your brake pedel is under the dash. There should be a switch that turns on the brake lights when the pedel is pushed. This switch shoud be adjustable. Push it a little towards the pedel and the lights should go out at the right time. If you set the switch too hard, you will have to push the pedel farther to release the cruse control. Post back if you need more help. Regards Dan |

Re: Brake Lights Won't Turn Off...HELP!!!
The switch is called Brake On / Off switch (BOO) in the FORD documentation.
I recently replaced mine......and posted a picture of it in my pictures. Is easy to replace....if adjusting it does not solve your problem. http://community.webshots.com/album/201931518cScpNK |
