well pressure release can either be easy if you let it sit for a while, it will just let out pressure on its own. but I went and bought a ful pressure tester w/ release line from checker auto parts. its the actron CP7818, its says it work on gm cars from 84 to 96, but it works on our cars too. umm. well tell you what actually, ill go take some pictures and make a little walkthru for you, ill post again in like 30 mintues.

well, what you need to do is, pu the car up on some jacks or lift it somehow. take the fuel cap off the gas tank to help relieve pressure, then if you go out an buy that pressure tester you can hook that up to the fuel pressure regulator, which is right here.
 or if you dont want to spend the $40 on that, you CAN do it another way, but I wouldnt reccomend it. but if you take off that plastic black cap off the pressure regulator, there will be a little pin sticking out, grap a rag or towel and a screw driver and wrap the rag around that area and take the screwdriver and push in that pin.(FUEL WILL START SPRAYING OUT) so like I said before if you let your car sit the pressure will slowly go down by itself so it wont spray as hard. but I still suggest the pressure tester. heres the one I got Actron CP7818  it has that black button on it so when you hook it up, you push that in and the fuel goes down that hose and into a container of your choice. but after you have relieved the fuel pressure then you get under the car(which should alreaady be in the air or able to be put in the air. and look for the fuel filter, heres some pics to show you where it is located. driver side rear door  under tha car you'll see this bracket.  Then this is the fuel filter.  take off the quick disconnect fitting, on the right in the picture. then get a wrench and take off the threaded end on the left. there will still be fuel in the system that will leak out so dont be surprised, have a rag handy and dont be right under it. then take off the bolt thats holds on the fuel filter bracket and take out the fuel filter. now put the new fuel filter back in the bracket, amke sure you flow direction on the fuel filter is the same. then reinstall the bracket and fuel filter, then just connect the quick connect fitting back to the new filter, then the threaded end. then you can put the vehicle back on the ground and put the gas cap back on and if you go out and buy that pressure tester, make sure you took that off the fuel pressure regulator and re-installed teh cap. then when all the caps are back on and all the fittings are tight. turn your car on(no engine) for 2 seconds, then off for 10 seconds, then back on(no engine) and check for fuel leaks. if you dont see anything leaking just make sure you have evrything put back on the car like the engine sight sheild(engine cover) and your done. hope that helps I tried to cover all the bases.

no its not just a pull type of thing. I dont remember exactly. but if you look at that picture, there is a black part and a white part. you might have to turn the white or black part, or I think even squeeze the black part on the sides and then pull, or push them together then turn and pull them apart, I dont remember, but its something like that where they secure themselves together. it doesnt say in the..... wait, actually I think it does say in the manual, hold on....
yeah see on the white plastic connection on the fuel filter itself, how it has the two tabs on it, push those together and pull it apart, but first turn the connections a couple times to loosen any dirt that is caught in them. if you have any compressed air around it says to use that to get any dirt out as well. but all you have to do is squeeze the white tabs and pull apart the two connections. just remember to cover up the fuel lines to stop any dirt from getting in them
