'96 Tacoma, Headlights stay on ??
Yes, True. On a Cold and wet rainy day, I turned the headlights off and they stay on, I shut the engine off and they are still on ?? I turn the engine on and off several times flipping the light switch and they eventually go off ?? It's not happening now, but it has to do with a relay that is shorting out with high humidity?
I'd like to know how to fix it without taking it in to pay and arm and a leg. |

I wouuld try another relay. You should be able to find one in a salvage yard, most Toyota's use a headlight relay.

Price a new relay also. They are probably not that expensive.

Under the hood there is a fuse/circuit breaker/relay box. On the top cover there should be a square, it reads "head" on my truck.
Remove the cover, pull the old relay out and plug in the new relay. Replace the cover and it's done. Hope it fixes your problem. Clifton |
