Clank Clank Clank

Yet another problem with my 88 cherokee laredo. Now there is a clank, thump crank clank crank clank. Etc Etc. It still drives but i don't know for how long. The sound is coming from the engine, toward the front middle part (so technical, i know) I think it might be the crank shaft pully, doesn't look right, anyone got any ideas, think i'm right/wrong???? Thanks

Re: Clank Clank Clank

How many miles do you have on it?

Does it do it when Cold? Hot? Idling? Rev'ing?

Does the sound change (get louder, faster, etc.)?

Continusly, it starts when you start the car ands doesn't stop until you stop the car. it has about 185,000 miles and the sound stays pretty much consisant....

Re: Clank Clank Clank

im thinking it could be a motor/trany mount. check those out as they are prolly worn out with the age and miles on your jeep.
