Oversized Cylinders, undersized rings

If there are in fact problems with oversized cylinders and undersized rings, as discussed in the following thread and others http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=407503, wouldn't that be beyond the warranty. Couldn't the attorny general, consumer protection agencies, and other lawyers go after them? It would seem that it is more of a recall than a simple warranty issue.

I love my trooper, but have the oil consumption problem. Sadly, I bought it because I always liked them and if you wanted a used one, it was either a year old, or 8 or 9 plus, and had 150,000 miles or something. I figured that meant that people really liked them and they lasted. Guess that was the older ones.

I guess that's why their are hardly any Isuzu dealers out there anymore. Big dissappointment.

Re: Oversized Cylinders, undersized rings

nope isuzu is covered.

If you read the owners manual it states 1qt of oil per 1k is normal. The folks that cook their engines are the ones that don't check their oil during the oil change period and when the low oil light comes on it is all over.

Moral of the story (with any car), check your oil.

Integrator- Not to say the piston/ring/bore size thing is untrue, but I've seen only a single report of this in 4-5yrs of being around isuzu boards. I've seen MANY hi oil usage reports. Most post to complain about it once & never post back again.

G/luck
