honda problems

hello: i have a 92 honda civic dx with a d15b7 block the problem i have with the car is first i found a milkly like substance which i believe is coolant in the oil you know how hard it is to tell your coolant level on that honda because of the small raditator it seem i didnt have to add to much coolant the main problem is when i try to crank it if i hold the throttle all the way do it will crank go between 2to 3 thousand rpms then it will almost red line then if you take your foot off the gas it will cut off and you will have to let it cool i drained the oil put oil filter cleaned plugs it seemed like there was no coolant oil mix in the cylinder what i did was took the cap off to see if one of my friends had put water or coolant into the motor also i took off the valve cover and found the milkly substance. i also checked the fuel pump and fuel fiter they were fine.i have a body kit, rims, and now i am fiberglassing bondoing the body kit pieces to the body i also took off the side and top moldings i am pretty much building a new car.i think i have one worped the head from down shifting or the head gasket went cause when i bought it the car need a water pump timimg belt so i may just have proluged the head life.what do you all think i should do replace the motor or do a mini me d16z6 head swap or should i drop a d16z6 motor will the tranny bolt up how about the connectors, motor and tranny mountsalso on the mini me will the p28 ecu mess with the back doors, locking, window motors etc

Re: honda problems

i would definatley think you had either a cracked head, a warped head or a blown head gasket. most cars i know of that have had that mixture are form one of those three things but then again it could be from the thermostat. i would definately be thinking of getting a new motor. a mini me swap is great but the rods in a d15b7 are not exactly as strong as a d16z6. i would think of swapping to a d16z6 just to be on the safe side, but then again thats your decision

Re: honda problems

It will be a plug and play swap (except for wiring vtec); the mounts and transmission from the stock engine will work with no problem. And your car is already partially pre-wired for vtec. For some reason honda pre-wired all '92 Civics from the shock tower harness to the ECU, so you just have to wire vtec from the engine to the matching wires on the other half of the shock tower harness. Re: honda problems

Yes, if you buy the z6 harness you'll be all set with no wiring to do (maybe just a ground wire). But even if you used your stock harness, it won't be that hard to do (3 wires, including the ground).

Re: honda problems

Yes you still need the p28 ecu. Look here to figure out the correct pins (you only need to top 3): http://www.allmotorhonda.com/techpag...ies-wiring.htm
