oil filter
I changed my oil this past weekend and chevy has gone to a smaller filter for the 5.3. Why would they have done this? Seems like it would be less filtering.

Re: oil filter
if u wanna stay ACDelco, get a PF59. I had been using those in mine since yesterday, but I changed to a Purolator Pure 1, just to see how it goes. BTW, the filter wrench I have for my PF59 will NOT fit on the Purolator. Same size filter, but the little grooves must be different. Guess i'll have to use the old hammer and screwdriver method to remove the filter when it comes time...

Re: oil filter
Talk to the GM engineers about it.
But in some cases oil filters are like women a little one can do as muck work as a big one. MT |

Re: oil filter
Wix 51522. Best filters in the world IMO.
