Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem with your grand prix. I have a 2002 40th anniversary grand prix gtp and I love the car. Lately, I've been running into some problems. My fan only works at the higher settings, 3 and up. At 1 and 2 it's not working. I've been search the internet for information about this and it possibly could be my motor blower resistor. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Secondly, when I first apply pressure to the brakes at high speed on the freeway, the car gives an initial rattle/shaking, but as more pressure is continued on the brake it goes away. This doesn't happen while driving in the city or at least it's not noticable. What could it be? Rotor problems? CV joints? or just a balance problem. My brakes were replaced not too long again and I had a tire balance about three months ago too.

Thanks for all the help.

If you have a manual HVAC system it's the blower motor resistor. If it's auto digital climate control it's the blower motor control module. They have different part numbers.

On your brakes, it sounds like one of your rotors has excessive lateral run out (warped). You feel the effects of a warped rotor more at high speeds than low.

BTW - Welcome to the forum.
