Re: Maf

It could be a lot of things. If you are confident you have spark, the next step is to make sure you have enough fuel. The cheap way to do this (without owning or buying a fuel pressure gauge, noid light ETC) is to put some gasoline in a old, but clean, spray bottle. remove the air intake boot and shoot a mist of gas right into the throttle body while holding the throttle plate open. Crank the engine over and if it runs for a second or so, then dies, there is a problem in the fuel system , such as the fuel pump, filter, or the electronic injection system. If you get nothing, the problem is with spark - or spark timing - or there is a mechanical problem with the engine such as the timing chain has jumped/broke.

Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????

also make sure your sparkplug wires are on corectly, not trying to be mean or anything but i have done it myself. that can get you if you're not carefull. a couple of other things that have given me problems are the ignition module under the dist. cap and the alternator, i had two checkers alternators go bad on me and the car quite running the instant they went out. just something to keep in mind
