::PICS:: My Muffler Burned a Cord And I Don't Know What The Cord does

ok this is the deal.

1989 cavalier 2 dr 4cyl

the muffler kept coming loose and making noises so i took it to meineke

the guy looked at it and told me that i needed my bracket/hanger replaced

(i'm not white though)

so i asked him how much he said $65....

<------ i gave him one of these and said i'll shop around

so i hit up advance auto parts

got the bracket for $8.40 plus tax....

and replaced it myself today.

i noticed that while the muffler was loose, the heat of the pipe burned up a cord

WHAT IS THAT CORD AND WHAT DOES IT DO AND WHAT SHOULD I DO?

i see the cord, but don't know what it could be

what does the cord connect to?

could it be just a piece of rubber tube shoved in there by the previous owner to quiet a rattle?

it looks like battery cable, but i can't figure out why there would be battery cable there

really like the post though, clearly expresses your question and makes me want to help

good luck with that

Re: ::PICS:: My Muffler Burned a Cord And I Don't Know What The Cord does

my dad's telling me it might be the emergency brake cable... but he's only heard me describe it and i haven't tested the emergency brakes recently...

ACTUALLY, i think that small black cable underneath that hose is your E brake cable,

i guess the only way your gonna get a guaranteed answer is to follow it and see where it takes ya

Re: ::PICS:: My Muffler Burned a Cord And I Don't Know What The Cord does

hey colinlesser.... regarding the following:

Lightning Audio 10" Sub And VR3 300watt Amp

how much did you pay for those? cuz i'm getting a 1200watt sub and a 1200 watt amp for a 160 and i was wondering what actual fair market value is.

no they're not stolen i just have good friends with hookups.
