how can i make my exhaust louder?
ive got a 99 f150 xlt 4x4, and the exhaust is quiet. there was a rattleing sound in it so i took the muffler off and it is falling apart inside, so since i need to replace the muffler i was wondering what i could put on it to make it sound mean. something that is cheap. also is it true that i shouldnt use a smaller muffler because it will cause to much back pressure. the muffler on it is a pretty big one.

Try some flowmasters 40 originals! And turn
them down under the bed that would make your truck sound mean!!!  They cost about 80-90$

did you put the muffler back on,and you can take it too a muffler shop,and have them put fake duels on it, with no muffler, but make sure you have the cats on it, or the shop will not work on it.
