engine stalling while pressing accelerator

while driving pressing accelerator quickly car stalls breifly then picks up again. manual transmission 1999 volkswagen bug. obdii code p1543 shows to be pedal position sensor??

if its a 2.0 engine that i would say problably a faulty throttle sensor. You have to replace the throttle body to fix that.

thanks veedub, the previous day before the problem showed up we had to jump start the beetle. Could the problem be i need to have a throttle body alighnment done before i spend 250 for a new throttle body?I have pulled the throttle body and cleaned it and reinstalled it with the same problem.

if its a 98-99 than yes, theres an updated throttle body in 00+ models.
