need help
I have a couple of questions. First of all, my Sprint 1.5" springs came in. Saying that here is my story. A friend and I started to put them on and we broke the bolt on the bottom of the rear strut (passenger side). So, I'm sure I can get it out and a new one but are there any words of advice here. The car is 14 years old and the bolts are pretty much rusted on (damn FL weather). We sprayed them down with WD-40 but no luck. So, we moved to the driver side and broke an extension, then we gave up for the day. Tire place wants $250 to do the job. I don't feel like paying that for a spring swap. Any words of wisdom from past experience?

Yeh i have the same freakin problem before!! If you go to performance shops it should be cheaper. They gonna say they have to cut it.If you're talkin about the rear then I figured out a way u can do it without takin the bottom strut bolt out. U can pull the spring from the top. Just take off the nuts on the top and push down on the arm. Then try pulling the spring out. Just becareful though.

When I got my car the first thing I did was put Skunk2 coilovers on it. all of the strut bolts were rusted on from the salt, minnesota weather, but anyways what I did is go to menards and get some carbon drill bits and like a qt of oil. Then start to drill the center of the bolt out. after you get all the way through you should be able to put the new ones in there :flamer:

Also Pick up some PB blaster and a torch, both are cheap and you will use them tons and tons. A torch, hammer, and big flathead screwdriver are my most used tools.

I also had a siezed bolt when i had my coilovers installed.
I took it to a shop and they installed them for 160 canadian. |

Alright man, I had to put a clutch in this weekend, if you're talking about where the panhard bar connects to the lower arm on the suspension then it's the same problem I had. We just used the closed end of a Snap-On brand wrench. Then put about a foot and half long bar on the end of the wrench and just pulled and jerked it until it snapped loose. We sprayed some wd-40 on it too. This should work just get as much leverage as you can. The impact wrench didn't work (we're not talkin a little puny impact wrench either, this one will break a stud off a wheel with like half trigger pressure). Anyway good luck man.

Why can't money come easier? ok so i had two civic hatchbacks, i totaled one because i wasn't paying attention, the other one i got ran into a creek by an old lady asleep at the wheel, then i got a CRX was being retarded hit a deer at 90 and flipped, so now i drive a 1992 celica GT and i love it, done with being stupid, this one will not be wrecked. |

If all of the bolt are rusted on like mine were you would be best off just getting new ones anyway. Just in case you want to replace the shocks. What I did (and it did come in handy) was when I did put the new bolts on I preayed some silcone spray all over it then put them in. When I put my koni adjustiables in they came right out with no problems. just some advise

Yeah and if you get new ones then make sure they're grade 8 all the ones I took off were either grade 8 or 10.
