91 LeSabre Code 41 Keeps Coming Back

Hi-

Got a 91 LeSabre, running rough, Code 41. Replaced plugs and wires and cam sensor, now it runs well but Code 41 returns as soon as started, even after clearing codes,

What is the cam magnet supposed to look like?

With the magnet positioned for viewing thru the cam sensor hole, I see a round hole in the cam gear, with a single projection. like a tooth. It will attract a bolt, so I suppose its magnetism is there.

However, when first touched after removing the original sensor, it seemed like there was something small, almost like a crust of gasket or crud (160,000 miles), that flicked away before I could get it out to examine it. It may have been a piece of plastic or something that surrounded the magnet.

Can anyone tell me what I've got there? Is the single projection all there is, or is part of the magnet gone?

If my magnet sounds intact, have you any suggestions on the persistent Code 41?

Thanks in advance!
