Usually the JDM motors are cheaper and more readily available than any other engines. As far as I know the B16A 2nd gen.(JDM) and the b16A2/3(USDM) are pretty much equal. There might be slight differences but nothing mojor, all work will be the same on either engine. Just be sure whichever you get to replace the belts at least. As far as the mounts, don't cheap out on these. I got to see a set of motor mounts off of ebay (that were fairly expensive for a no name $175) break @ the welds, and the car wasn't even moving, they had just finshed bolting it up and then a loud thud about a minute later!

Re: B16a2 few questions

as formotor mounts, search the internet for a good deal. as for deciding your b16. the b16a2, should will be an easier swap for you because it is obd2.

But he'll still need an OBD2a to OBD2b conversion harness to plug in the ECU (different ecu connectors).

Re: B16a2 few questions

i thought that you use a combination of stock mounts to swap it into a 92+ civic. if that is so then the motor should come with good mounts and just get some inserts
