1984 s 10 blazer 5 speed removal
Has anyone removed a 5 speed from a blazer 6 cyl 4x4 can offer some advice for me? I'm helping a friend prepare to remove his but was wondering if you have to seperate the transfer case from the tranny and also if you take the whole shifter lever out (with the 4 bolts at the bottom to the tranny.) Also if you can do this without removing the bellhousing?

Re: 1984 s 10 blazer 5 speed removal
Do a search on clutch replacement.
Someone was doing the same job 1 or 2 weeks ago. It could have been in the s10 forum too. The truck was a little newer He had a few problems, but I'm sure that he figured it out by now. And can probably help you out |

Re: 1984 s 10 blazer 5 speed removal
You can pull it all together or seperate it.
But it is easier to handle if you seperate it. Yes on the gear shift lever pull the 4 little bolts out of the trans top plate and it will lift out. Just watck the plastic cap on the end of the gear shift stick that it stays on the end of it. The trans should unbolt from the bell housing. But if you want to check or replace the clutch while you are there you will have to remove the bell housing. Good Luck MT |
