Importing Revell /Monogram kits from the US.

For all you US model builders - where is a good place to get the Revell SRT 10 Viper and Revell Mustang 2005 and be able to pay with paypal that ship to the UK? Found places on the Internet but not sure of which sites are decent to deal with as nearly all of them were in the US that have these models in stock.

I simply cannot find these kits in the UK, they don't appear to be importing them into the UK for some strange reason, don't know why as I'm sure there'd sell well.

After seeing progress threads of these models, they look to be very good models and could be cheaper then Tamiya. Many thanks...

I'm going to guess that most paypal sites are smaller dealers than the sites I've dealt with (Hobbylinc.com, hobbyheaven.com, towerhobbies.com) that don't offer paypal as an option. Of course, being in the US, I can typically find all the kits I need at the LHS. It's a shame that so many sites still don't use paypal.

Anyway, the only shop that comes to my mind is Hometown Hobbies. Unfortunately, their online catalog is extremely limited and they don't have either the Viper or Mustang on their web page... in fact they only have 5 Revell kits on their site. However, they do advertise the use of special orders through their distributor, so you can get it, you'll just have to drop them an email.

eBay stores (the stores affiliated with eBay)?
You can easily find both kits, and most of them accept Paypal.

Hobby Heaven carries what you're looking for and takes Paypal, you have to email them for the address to send payment or simply call them on the phone or fax your order to them. They are woefully behind the times in ease of online shopping-their online catalog is a mess and not user-friendly; especially if you just want to see what they have (they have a paper catalog mindset because that's what the owner is comfortable/familiar with), but they do have great service and should have the kits you are looking for at a decent price. If you want cheap American kits from a source that accepts Paypal, they can't be beat.

If I ever see the Mustang anywhere, I can get those kits for you and ship them, so long as you can pay me back!

(Hobby Lobby has the kits for 50% off this week so let me know ASAP)

Well hobby heaven is a mess.. The PDF is almost un-readable. I did think of ebay, but they do tend to rip you off with the postage sometimes..!! Not all the time though.

I prefer paypal as I can link a paypal payment to my slush fund account, an account I've got for money I need for no other purposes..!! I "could" use a credit card, as I use my credit card for HLJ.

99civichic if you have a paypal account let me know, I'll pay you before you purchase the kits to ensure you are not out of pocket. Ensure you put the cost of not just postage, but any cost of having to get packaging as well..

Many thanks. I'll get that collection of US muscle cars in the end..He he..

They are still living their lives and running their business like it was 1990. Their online catalog has a search feature, that's the easiest way to buy something you know you want, and they have a checkout and you can tell what's in stock. But it's impossible to simply have a look around there at everything w/o having a paper copy of their catalog. They do have good service and they do accept Paypal. If you want to use a credit card, by all means try out my friends at Model Roundup They have great service, an easy-to-navigate website, and have a large portion of their sales from overseas customers.

Modelroundup has the Mustang http://www.modelroundup.com/images/rmx2839.jpg

It's a 2006 model not a 2005, getting my years mixed up now. Couldn't find the SRT 10. I'll see if 99civichic can get me these kits from hobby lobby first though, as that could work out cheaper with their weekend sale..

But still the 2006 mustang was only $10..!! Cheap..!!

And this looked good as well -

http://www.modelroundup.com/images/rmx2874.jpg

Again $10... Lucky to get a Tamiya in the UK for $10, around £6..!! Brand new..!! Revell are cheap I'll not take that away from them. That's why I want to buy some, plus the ones I want are just great looking US muscle cars, I've got enough nissans, subaru's, JTCC cars etc... Time for something more muscle looking..

The Viper is on page 1 of their Revell catalog near the bottom same price as the '06 Mustang.

Thanks but they won't have stock until Jan 2006..?? The Cobra I got from ebay is there as well but not until March 2006..?? Erm, OK. I wasn't planning on going to a model show in Telford, I actually looked at that when you mentioned it before..

Hmm... Might have to get the old route planner out and see about going. Never been to a model show before. Wonder if I said to a few mates I'm going to a model show they would think - ah long legs from the female type of model.. No offence intended anyone...

Oh, and the viper I looked at was said SR10, wasn't sure it that was the correct kit..

Yeah I know, I went just to see if they had a Mustang and they managed to get into my wallet AGAIN. (Polar Lights Ford GT!)

Mickbench-I'll head to Hobby Lobby again today to see if they have the Mustang. I won't know on shipping until I get to the Post Office, I don't wanna guess and overcharge. I can do a postage calculator, but I'd have to guess on the weight. I have a box ready to go, so packaging etc isn't an issue. I'll check on the prices and availability and get back to you, hopefully in a few hours!

Oh yeah-- I do have paypal!

Walmart restocks tonight. They *should* have a new Mustang. Hooray for 50% off - this one was $7.57!
