Ok, so just recently the lights that light up "D, R, N" you get my drift stopped lighting up. Pretty much the lights on the gear shifter on a '92 grand prix se automatic. I was looking through the owners manual and i cant see the console thing on the list. Does anyone know what fuse to replace or is it a bad wire inside?

Re: Gear Selector lights out?
the lights on the gear selector, alone, do not have their own fuse. If the cluster lights work then the fuse is ok. More heat is generated under the console gear selector, and seems to cause problems w/ lights and connections etc..... you need to go to the source of the problem, open it up and try a new bulb, if that doesnt work then check the connection for power and work your way back

Re: Gear Selector lights out?
My 98 had the light out also, i managed to fix it, a wire was pulled out where the bulb plugs into. its not all that hard to get to.

Re: Gear Selector lights out?
what i did was just pull up the plastic peicing that runs from under the ashtray (but its not part of the ashtray) to the cupholder, the cupholder is attached to it. be careful as you pull it out not to crack anything, it should just pop right up. i dont remember much else but i think once you get the plastic peice off you'll be able to see how to get to everything else, let us know how it goes.
