Grand Prix vs. Murano

I was driving back from work the other day and my assistant manager pulls up next to me at a stoplight in her Nissan Murano, a nice vehicle i must admit. Anyway, she rolls down her window and asks if i want to race. I figured why not, even if I lose it'll be fun. When the light turned green, i let off the brake slow to see if she was actually going, and she was, so I floored it. Even with my traction control on, I spun my tires pretty good. She got the jump, so she was ahead of me for about 30 or 40 feet, then I started to pull. I continued to slowly pass her til about 50, then we shut down, with her nose at my bumper. Talked to her the next day and she said she hadnt engaged the "sport shifting." Dunno if they have that or not, but o well. Considering im a thousand miles late on my oil change and had traction control on, I'm happy. It's nice to have a race with a newer vehicle finally. It may be an SUV, but those thinks aren't horribly slow.

Those Murano's are actually high 15 second SUV's. Wouldn't be suprised if they put a couple civics to shame

I knew the Murano had a good engine, so I figured it'd be decent. I shut down at 50 because we were going down the town's main drag, speed limit 30 mph (and the cops swarm around here), and because she had to turn off about 3 or 4 blocks after the light. I really woulda liked to have raced up top though.

Re: Grand Prix vs. Murano

those murano's are 3900 lbs and make 240 hp. if hers is AWD it's probably real slow up top.
