transmission

I own a 03 eclipse spyder gts with 41k miles. For the last 10 or so thousand miles the transmission has been geting worse and worse. The transmission shifts hard in between almost every gear now. Sometimes it almost seems like it cant figure out which gear it wants to go into during shifting . I have one of those generic cold air intakes off ebay on the car. Do you think that could be the problem? Any help would be appriciated.

Re: transmission

did you reset the ECU when you put the intake on? ie, pull the plug off the negative for 10 min. then let it idle for a few minutes and adjust to the air?

if not that would be a contributor, otherwise my moms' concorde had a solenoid go bad, something real easy to fix and it had those symptoms, shifted and ran really rough and wouldn't downshift until you were stopped, pretty bad, is it not throwing any SES light?

it also depends on the CAI you got, PJ automotive Generic intake is good on the car, if its another i don't have a clue

Re: transmission

im assuming you have a 5spd. change the tranny oil to BG Synchroshift. it should help out with the shifting.

you are now experiencing the horrendous mitsu V6 trannys. most likely, your synchros are shot. if your car is under warranty, then take it to the dealership and have them replace the synchros.
