Question pain in the ass

hey ya'll, I was wondering if anyone could help me with another problem. I have a 99 silvy 1500, 2wd. When I get to a stop sign or stop light anywhere I have to stop, when I get almost completly stopped my truck sounds like it still wants to go and seems like the tranny is still trying to pull. I thougt after all this ABS recall shit that it may be my ABS activating but there are not any recalls for my VIN. Its real annoying and was wondering what you all think about it. It kinda hard to explain but if you need a better explanation just let me know. Oh yeah, also when I get almost stopped there is like a vibration that either seems like my ABS is activating or my tranny is down shifting. But i figure if there was something wrong with my tranny it would be shiffting really hard or something like that. But I appreciate the help.

Re: pain in the ass

From your description it sounds like the Torque converter is not unlocking when you come to a stop. It should unlock when ever the brake pedal is depressed or when there is a change in throttle position.

Get up to speed around 50 or 55 and tap the brake pedal, rpms should rise 200 or 300 when the converter unlocks.

The TCC Solenoid or TCC Apply Valve may be sticking.

Is that expensive to replace? Also I have noticed that when I am driving around 40-45mph, my RPM are at around 1000, sometimes even as low as 700RPM. Is that normal?

That sounds like it to me. It's kind of acting like a manual with the clutch engaged
